EXCEL SURGERY

Everything you need to look, feel, and function your best

At Honolulu Spine Center by Excel Health, your comfort and well-being are our top priority. It’s a privilege to have you entrust us with your care. Here is what to expect before, during, and after your visit:

Before Your Surgery

Prior to your surgery date, expect a call from one of our skilled registered nurses. They will discuss your medical history, provide preoperative instructions, and address any questions or concerns you may have. Please ensure to provide us with your most reliable contact number for seamless communication.

For your safety, driving a motor vehicle after surgery is not permitted. We kindly ask that you arrange for a responsible adult to provide transportation to and from our facility on the day of your surgery.

If you require assistance between your vehicle and our facility, please call our main line at (808)237-2970. A member of our team can meet you at your vehicle with a wheelchair. There is a loading zone on Pohukaina Street for drop-offs and pickups.

If you have a copayment, a member of our office staff will contact you before your procedure to provide notification. You can choose to make the payment over the phone or at the time of check-in for your convenience.

Finding Us

Please arrive promptly at or before your designated time to facilitate a timely and seamless experience.

We are conveniently located at Waterfront Plaza, formerly known as Restaurant Row, 500 Ala Moana Blvd, Tower 1, Suite 301. Validated parking is available in any unmarked stall, with entrances to our parking garage on both Pohukaina Street and South Street. Parking validations will be provided for your ride at our front desk. Kindly present your parking ticket to our receptionist for validation.

Upon arrival, proceed to Tower 1 and take the elevator to the third floor. Honolulu Spine Center will be the first office on the left after exiting the elevators. If you need assistance locating our facility, do not hesitate to call us.

Check-In and Pre-Op

Upon arrival, a member of our front desk staff will greet you and ask you to review insurance and demographic information, as well as collect any necessary copayments.

Please remember to bring your ID, insurance cards, and a copy of your current medication list (if applicable) to expedite the check-in process.

After check-in, a registered nurse will accompany you to the preoperative area to prepare you for surgery. You will meet your anesthesiologist and operating room nurse, who will conduct a preoperative assessment and address any questions you may have. Your surgeon will also confirm the details of your procedure and address any last-minute concerns.

We warmly welcome family members to wait comfortably in our waiting lounge while you undergo your procedure. Water and beverages are conveniently available at our front desk for their enjoyment while they wait.

After Surgery - Post Care

Following your procedure, you will awaken in our recovery room. Our skilled nursing staff will assess and monitor your condition, manage any postoperative symptoms, and ensure a safe discharge home.

Your surgeon will provide a postoperative update to your designated point of contact. Our nurse will coordinate your transportation home, providing your contact with an estimated discharge time and directions if needed.

Postoperative care instructions will be provided and reviewed with you and your ride home, facilitating a smooth transition to recovery.

The day after your procedure, one of our nurses will reach out to check on your recovery progress. Additionally, you can expect to receive an online survey via email, allowing you to provide valuable feedback on your experience with us.
