Jon Graham, M.D. is a board-certified neurosurgeon, specializing in cranial and spine surgery for the treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal disease. Dr. Graham has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has participated in several research studies and lectures, and has written numerous articles in peer-reviewed publications and journals on neurosurgery and spine surgery.

Dr. Graham received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Michigan State University with high honors, and his Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit with distinction. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society while at Wayne State. He did his internship and neurosurgical residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and then continued on to complete his fellowship training at the National Institute of Neurological, Communicative Disorders and Strokes in Bethesda.

A local boy born in Wahiawā, Hawai‘i, Dr. Graham decided to return home to the islands in 1984. He initially practiced at Tripler Army Medical Center, then Kaiser Medical Center, and has been in private practice since 2000. He is continuing to serve the needs of the community at the Hawai‘i Sports & Spine Institute in the Ala Moana Building in Honolulu and in Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii and has hospital privileges at Queen’s Medical Center, Kuakini Medical Center, Straub Hospital, North Hawai‘i Community Hospital, and Excel Health Surgery Center.

As a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Hawai‘i Medical Association, Philippine Medical Association of Hawai’i, and the Hawai‘i Association of Neurological Surgeons, and with more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Graham is more than qualified to diagnose and treat your condition and providing the best possible outcome. Dr. Graham feels that providing a detailed evaluation, analysis of the condition, explanation of treatment options, and recommendations, all in layman’s terms, allow his patients and their families to make the best choices for treatment, allowing for the best possible outcome.

Dr. Graham is a proud father of 3 adult children – Scott, Kyla, and Lara. When he is not working to improve your health, he can be found hiking, golfing, taking nature photographs, and surfing.
